The Crop tool picks up the neckline beautifully, greatly improving the appearance of that area. Not only that, but it also makes the crop look less like an “image-restoration patchwork job”.
The sharpening and dynamic lighting effects in Lightroom are so much fun to play with! The new tack-sharp brush-based image sharpening is capable of creating expertly-sharpened images with interactive brush strokes. It is masterful to use, and it is even fun to use. In some ways, it blows away the old “unsharp mask” feature that has been inside Photoshop since CS4. But not so fast. Desaturate and Saturate have been sped up in Lightroom, but I am not convinced that HDR images are properly exposed in a reasonable timeframe. It’s been long enough since my Photoshop 2013 training that I can’t remember that “unconstrained photo development” feature, and I haven’t had the opportunity to look at the new “Pixelapse” tool yet. I’m sure it’s very exciting, but it’s a tool that I have yet to experience, and that may be the case for some of my readers as well. I’ve had a chat with one of the Pixelapse creators, and we’ll see where this one goes.
