It is also quite extreme to preview resolution and differences in brightness using the Histogram view. The new crop tool now includes a transparent background. But where it is really needed is in the way that the Crop tool recognizes and applies cropping. There are still a lot of grey areas, though. Is a square the same as a rectangle? You can zoom way in, and if you zoom in to the point that you start having to scroll the screen, you can make the image shift. This happens to me all the time. There is no way to prevent this. This also means that the scale of any layers in Photoshop (e.g. Confidence, Smart Objects) are very distorted and misleading. For that reason, this is not likely to be useful in merging two images together, where you are trying to get a more accurate crop result.

If you have a really good eye for the real modern art and can quickly draw or paint then you will love the Painting tool. It lets you paint directly with a tool on a canvas, just like a real artist. The Adobe Camera Raw Optimizer feature is new to Elements and as its name suggests, it’s a great tool for professional photographers. It can automatically rescale images according to the dynamic range of the sensor. This can help fill in missing data on photos with a lot of shadows and highlights as the tool automatically resizes the photo so it looks better.
A feature that’s bound to be more popular is the ability to edit graphics using content-aware fill. This Adobe Photoshop tool will not only replace the entire area of an image, it will retain the contents of the areas that it replaces – like the ones you’ve highlighted. For some common tasks, Elements provides streamlined replacements for Photoshop. For example, you can import photos into your camera roll in one click. No need to export, rename photos, or done manually.

It reduces the time it takes for users to edit photos, resize them and make them look like they were taken with a professional camera.
You can also edit and collaborate on graphics by blasting out and picking up an image, font or symbol in a document from another location. And if you would like to see the state of your work, simply drag and drop the panel from the left side of the tool bar onto a page.
